About Eric Wargotz, MD

A highly decorated physician and respected community leader, Dr. Eric Wargotz is looking to bring his real-world experience and passion for service to the U.S. Senate to help get America back on track and fix the broken system left by career politicians in Washington.

For over 20 years, Eric has served the people of Maryland as a doctor, small businessman, community activist and elected representative.  Eric has worked at a non-profit hospital in Prince George's County for over 20 years, serving the Greater Prince George's County community. He has also worked on the Eastern Shore.  In 2006 Eric was elected President of the Queen Anne’s Board of County Commissioners, where he successfully fought to shrink the size of government while making government more transparent and accountable to its citizens.

Unlike career politicians in Washington, Eric cherishes the trust his constituents put in him, and has kept his promises.  As a County Commissioner, Eric led the charge to lower taxes for Queen Anne’s County residents and give hardworking families and businesses the best opportunity to prosper.

Eric relies on his core, conservative principles to help make the tough choices needed to ensure government is best serving the people.  Principles like fiscal discipline, adherence to the Constitution, personal responsibility and love of country drive his decision-making, and he has remained true to his beliefs as an independent-minded Conservative Republican.

Eric has always shown a desire to give back to his community.  Possessing a doctor’s natural instinct to serve, Eric has worked tirelessly to help build a safe, strong and healthy Maryland.  In addition to his involvement with many medical boards and organizations, Eric volunteers on numerous charitable and community organizations and is committed to working to improve quality of life for all.

Eric has received many honors during his long career as a physician and public servant. He has been selected as one of America’s Top Physicians, and is a recipient of the Physician Patient’s Choice Award.  The Maryland House of Delegates and the people of Queen Anne’s County have also recognized him for his outstanding commitment to civic service.

Eric is a graduate of Rutgers University and the Ohio State University Medical School.  From 1989-2007 he served as Medical Director and Chief of Pathology at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham

He lives in Queen Anne’s County with his wife Cheryl Ann and their three children.
