Dr. Eric Wargotz, candidate for U.S. Senate in Maryland, today released the following statement on Barbara Mikulski’s refusal to accept any debates:

“I don’t know if it’s because her record is indefensible or because she just doesn’t care anymore, but either way, Mikulski’s unwillingness to engage intellectually with Maryland citizens is troubling.  Her refusal to debate is unfortunate but not surprising given she led the charge against government transparency.  We sincerely hope Barbara Mikulski will change her mind on debates, just as she changed it on protecting jobs for Maryland families, rationed health care for seniors and many other issues where she sided with special interests over her constituents."

Several media outlets, most notably MPT, have expressed interest in hosting debates.  Sadly, after multiple communications between our campaigns, Senator Mikulski refuses to agree on anything that would involve any direct interaction between the two candidates.”
