Wargotz Statement on Judge Ruling on AZ Immigration Law
Commissioner Eric Wargotz M.D. released the following statement on the judicial ruling on Arizona's immigration law: "Arizona is forced to take action because the federal government is failing to do its job. Illegal immigration must be stopped. The federal government must secure our borders. America is a nation of laws and those laws must be enforced. Because the federal government has failed to fulfill its constitutional obligations, Arizona had to act. I support Arizona's decision to take action. When elected to the United States Senate, I will work tirelessly to secure our borders and enforce immigration laws."

Wargotz Critical of Mikulski's Call for End to Filibuster
Last week, Senator Mikulski called for an end to filibusters. In a speech on the Senate floor, Senator Mikulski said, "I'm on the side and definitely part of the reform movement in this institution to get rid of out-of-date procedures that belong to another century and that now only serve to slow us down so that while we do procedural due diligence, we don't actually accomplish anything at all." While using buzzwords such as "reform" and "out-of-date procedures" sounds nice, it is important to examine what Mikulski actually wants to do. Click to read more.

Wargotz: "Mikulski Destroying Free Enterprise System"
Today, Commissioner Eric Wargotz M.D. a Republican candidate for the United States Senate, criticized Senator Mikulski for supporting the financial regulation bill. According to an Associated Press summary of the bill, the Federal government receives broad power over the entire economy. The article says, "If such a company teetered, the government could liquidate it. The costs of taking such a company down would be borne by its industry peers." This means a council of 10 government bureaucrats can liquidate companies at will and their industry peers would be forced to pick up the costs. Click to read more.

Incumbents have fundraising edge
Despite such disadvantages, some candidates see hope even in their trailing totals. Dr. Eric Wargotz, a Queen Anne's County Commissioner, reported more than $600,000 on hand for his effort to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, who has $2.9 million of her own. 'Voters are tired of the one-party rule in Washington," he said. "These fundraising numbers show we have the resources we need to win the Republican primary, and to then take on Senator Mikulski in November.
